Cupping

What is cupping therapy?

Cupping is a form of Chinese medicine, which is not as known as other forms such as acupuncture and herbal medicine. In specific, cupping is the term applied to a technique that uses small glass cups or bamboo jars as suction devices that are then placed on the skin.

How does it work?
As the air inside cools down, a vacuum is created and as a result one's skin will often rise and redden as the blood vessels expand. One’s pores are then more susceptible to open and thus enhances blood and lymphatic circulation. The cup is left to sit there for five or more minutes depending on your skin’s sensitivity to the treatment.
